Papal Visit

 

Information for the forthcoming Papal Visit to Scotland

Invitations for the Papal Mass taking place in Bellahouston Park, Glasgow are being made available to every parish in Scotland to enable as many parish communities to participate as possible. Invitations are also being made available to the dioceses of Lancaster and Hexham and Newcastle and to Ireland.

Those in Scotland who wish to attend should keep in touch with their local parish. Those from the dioceses of Lancaster and Hexham and Newcastle should contact their Diocesan Co-ordinator, the contact details of which can be found at www.thepapalvisit.org.uk/2010-Visit/Attending-Events/Local-Co-ordinators

Arrangements for Ireland are still being made and further information will be available in due course.

This page will be updated regularly as information becomes available and please use the contact details on the right if you wish to get in touch with us directly.

 

Pilgrim Packs and Pilgrim Passes:

Pilgrim packs and Pilgrim passes are being distributed to all Scottish parishes the week beginning 30 August. This distribution will take some time and will arrive in parishes on different days, even within the same diocese.

The Magnificat Handbook:

Copies of the Magnificat Handbook is being distributed to all parishes in the UK. The Handbooks will be delivered over the course of this week and next week.

Transport:

Transport is being organised centrally by Stagecoach. Parishes will receive information directly from Stagecoach, detailing the specific arrangements for their parish. This information will begin going out to parishes on Tuesday 31 August and will be posted out over the course of the next week.
